  • In Person or Virtual Events?

With this past year having all events either being cancelled or moved to virtual/online, do you feel you are getting the same level of interaction and depth of knowledge from these events and conferences?

I gotta say I miss all the swag I can bring home for my kids. That’s one of the highlights of ‘Dad going to a conference’!

Not sure if the after parties will be the same either after this.

In-Person events are always good as it provides better interaction with the community peers.

    Pros and cons to both.

As mentioned by others, in person is better interaction. However I cannot always get away from work so virtual gives me an opportunity to stay in touch.

As or swag, yeah my kids like the stuff I bring back. But like this community, awarding Amazon GC is just as good. 🙂

At least virtual events allow me to attend, national events are very budget dependent (not friendly this year).

I think virtual events will not be going away. They may be in conjunction with live events. I know from the Federal government level, travel is being restricted more and more. Looking at travel, a per diem and then adding on another $2K+ on top invites layers of management to really look into the feasibility of going. For the last few years it’s been allowed to travel to a local VMUG or a DELL Technology tour.

But realistically, the viability of But hw the national events rests with companies like DELL & VMWare. Are they able to reach more people with virtual meetings? There is no question that in-person is better. But how much better.

You will never ever get the same what you get in an in-person event in a virtual event.
