It looks like 2020 is going to go down into history as one of the cruelest years in the memories of many people today. With that being said, there are always blessings in the midst of darkness; a proverbial rainbow, if you will. What is one (or more) of your 2020 “rainbows”? For me, there are so many. Professionally, it has been the ability to attend SO MANY trainings and conferences that I never would have been able to attend had venues not switched from in-person to virtual. Personally, I now get to work side-by-side with my best buddy, my 11 year old pound puppy Keiki, who has this wonderful ability (which I believe all canines have) to make “our workspace” a very happy place to be. 🙂

Blessings to you all in the new year!

The new reality is that trainings. conferences and online learning is present more than ever and will accompany us in the following years.

    Happy 2021

I think every large event produces the same response: this is the best/worst thing ever and nobody in history has ever had to deal with something like this. 2020 presented some new challenges, but many new opportunities. Most of the online sessions I’ve attended have been much more social than the physical events I remember going to. I think that there was a sense of “all of us are in this together” that permeated a lot of things. Stoicism has been my go-to this year and looking for opportunities instead of difficulties has provided a helpful approach.

Thank you and blessings to you and yours as well.

Despite all the travesties that we witnessed, 2020 is a year of reflection of what’s most important in our lives. I certainly hope that 2021 is an improvement and will bring about much healing needed by many. I agree that there are blessings while experiencing trials. One that I enjoy is not having to commute to work, finding parking and trekking to the office. I find myself saving more time and using it to engage in more meaningful activities, namely working immediately. I do miss the social interactions of working in-person and the cultural aspect that comes with it. Another positive is being with my family “while at work” from home. It is nice to pause and have a conversation with family and returning to work with a new perspective. Finally, I agree that the MANY trainings and conferences have been beneficial. Under normal circumstances, I would not have participate in as many of these.

Have a great year in 2021 everyone!

P.s. A great positive would be winning one of the $100 Ikea gift card. Good luck everyone.

Nothing wrong with 2020 or 2021 or beyond (or past). It’s how we think (perception).
