  • What DELL laptop would you recommend?

Posted by Michael on December 29, 2020 at 4:08 pm

This is probably the best place to start this conversation. MY youngest daughter’s laptop just died. What DELL laptop would you recommend for me to get. My work laptop is a LATITUDE E6540. Very rugged and gets the job done. But does anyone else have a recommendation? She is a Senior in college who will be going on to graduate school to get her MFA. So it would be noce to get something that has very sharp graphics.

    SO, any ideas?

Things that I consider when picking beyond standard specks.
What style of spare chargers do you have lying around?
Will all your peripherals work with the new one? I generally forget what monitor hook ups are on the new laptop.
Do you really need business grade or is a consumer grade/warranty good enough? Personally I buy consumer Dell’s (generally open box or refurbished) and treat it like a toaster. If it breaks after 2 years I recycle it and get a new one. To be honest I get 4 or 5 years out of them.

That said I think Dell latitude’s are a great choice and think they make managing fleet’s of them easier than most manufacturers.

one can go for latest high end laptops in dell. but when it comes graphics and heavy duty stuff, Alienware is an option one can go for.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will probably look more towards the Alienware. That’s what my sons are suggesting (or wanting to use).
