Redefining the World of Work | Part 2: Security is Everyone’s Business

One of the biggest challenges to this new workplace is obviously security as the number of end users who are working remotely and on-the go has increased exponentially. If businesses are to gain lasting benefits from hybrid working, security can’t simply be left to the IT team. As mainstream technologies evolve so too does cybercrime, the technologies seeking to breach them (such as hacking and phishing and more that trick employees into giving access to the corporate network). For today’s IT leaders this is a challenge to demand modern devices from their trusted technology partners that deliver an intuitively productive experience to employees while helping protect digital assets and keep sensitive data private. With breaches now happening both above and below the OS, we need intelligent solutions that prevent, detect and respond to threats wherever they occur.

  • 42% say: “Hybrid working covers employees being able to work in any location that suits them, whether that be the office, at home or another workspace”
  • 38% say: “Hybrid working is the balance between employees working in the office and at home”
  • 18% say: “Hybrid working is where an organization allows employees to work from home when they need to, but the majority of the time, employees are in the office”

Technology has long been at the center of any modern organization, but its importance has been truly amplified with the move to hybrid. Yet, having invested in the technology and experiencing the many benefits of the hybrid workforce, such as increases in employee satisfaction, well-being, and improved productivity and efficiencies, it’s clear that the technology will continue to be developed and empower the future of work. It’s now essential that organizations have technologies like the cloud, intelligent devices, and collaboration tools. The right technology enables collaboration and innovation from anywhere, as and when organizations need it.
